Congratulations Syed and Christian!, Eastenders, BBC1

Belatedly, I wanted to say Congratulations to Syed and Christian on their Civil Partnership, which was screened on Tuesday 16 October at 7.30pm on BBC1. Eastenders has always led the way in terms of "issues driven drama" and I am really pleased that they have gone ahead and featured a civil partnership in a very positive way.

I am a longtime Eastenders fan; I have seen all the ups and downs in Syed's and Christian's relationship, as there are in all real-life relationships; I am happy that they are making a lasting commitment to eachother; and I hope that they live happily ever after! (let's wait and see!).

Back to politics ...
At the moment in the UK, gay men can only have a civil partnership, not a marriage.
