The 5th episode in the new series of Doctor Who is on today (Saturday 29 September) at 7.20pm on BBC1. Doctor Who will then take a break until Christmas, and the second half of series seven will be broadcast in 2013.

Cut and pasted from the Radio Times website:

It all begins so happily for the Doctor, Amy and Rory, holidaying in New York’s Central Park, with the Time Lord reading aloud from a pulp-fiction novel he’s found in his pocket. Then Rory wanders off to fetch some coffees … and a nightmare begins. Soon their lives are entangled once more with those dratted Weeping Angels — and with River Song.

New York's statues come to life, and with Rory in grave danger, the Doctor and Amy face a race against time to locate him. Luckily, an old friend has come up with a novel way to guide them. Alex Kingston returns as River Song in Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill's final adventure.

Almost don't want to watch this – those angel statue things really freak me out, plus I know it's got to have a sad ending – but I will, on catch up, eventually, when I've steeled my nerves suitably. :-))

Priorities. This is a priority. I am watching it right now - can't wait any longer. Laterz!

Statue of Liberty = scariest angel ever. Roll on the Christmas special!

I enjoyed this episode too. Shame there is now a break. But I agree with you - roll on the Christmas special!

'Did you notice the Sherlock Holmes references that Moffat snuck into this episode? 'The Dying Detective', 221 BC, and the "Wherever and whenever" quote for example. He's having far too much fun! :-))

I noticed The Dying Detective and 221 but that was it! You have sharper eyes and a quicker brain then me!

Knowing Moffat, there were probably more in jokes that I totally failed to notice. :-))

Yay, the Pond woman is no more!!!!

Lets hope I take to the next companion more than I did this one.

Loved Rory though, and his dad!

I liked Amy Pond! And Rory and his dad. I will miss them all.
