Cut and pasted from the Radio Times Website:

Elementary, starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu, will air in the Autumn, shortly after it debuts on US network CBS. America's answer to Sherlock is crossing the Atlantic, with Sky today announcing it has bought US series Elementary, starring Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes.

Elementary transplants Holmes to modern-day Manhattan where the consulting detective and recovering addict helps the NYPD with their cases, aided - in a radical departure – by a female sidekick, Lucy Liu's Dr Joan Watson.

Sky? Humph. Will have to wait for dvd. :-/

I have Sky! Although I have the v.basic package so if they put this on one of their premium channels I am screwed too!

I sense a "we are not amused"! :)

Definitely not amused! I was hoping for it to air on a Freeview channel, but realistically knew that the BBC were unlikely to pick this up when budgets are being cut and they have their own Sherlock. I just hope a region 2 DVD is made available quickly for us poor plebs without access to Sky. :-/

I am sure God will provide! There is bound to be a huge demand for this and markets always respond to demand!

I'm still quite horrified that Lucy Liu has been cast in the role of Watson. Anyone but her!

I think JLM will actually be quite good as Sherlock Holmes.

But as I do not get any form of Sky I will not be able to watch it anyway.

I have seen the trailers. They are excellent. JLM is v.convincing as Sherlock and LL is great as Watson (trust me!).
