Andrew Scott won the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor for Sherlock. This Award is VERY well deserved; huge congratulations to Andrew Scott!

I have just watched the clip of Andrew winning the Award and it was lovely to see him so visibly moved by his win and to see him getting so emotional about it - it clearly meant a lot to him.

Steven Moffat got the Special Award - Congratulations Steven!

Steven Moffat, television writer & producer of both Sherlock & Doctor Who, was presented with the 2012 BAFTA Television Special Award. The Award was presented to Steven Moffat in recognition of his outstanding creative writing contribution to television.

Special congratulations to the following BAFTA winners who I was also backing:

Entertainment performance: Graham Norton (The Graham Norton Show, BBC1)

Mini series: This Is England '88 (Channel 4)

I'm still trying to catch up with all the photos and videos! Best bits were definitely Andrew winning best supporting actor, and Ben and Matt presenting the Moff with his special award. Poor Benedict though – he's been nominated four times over the years and still not got a BAFTA to call his own. Sherlock series 3 has to be his turn!

"Poor Benedict" - NO!

Benedict has won every Theatre Best Actor Award going this year for his role as the Creature in Frankenstein. So I don't think he needs our sympathy or that he is crying about not getting this BAFTA. He probably doesn't even have room on his mantlepiece!

Benedict's time will come re winning a TV Best Actor BAFTA. Not necessarily with Sherlock, but the Award has his name on it, and he will get it one day; it is just a question of time!

Benedict is Sherlock, so I still want him to get an award for that part! Seems only fair, no matter what other accolades he is awarded in the future. :-)

My feeling is that he won't get it for Sherlock, but for something more "worthy" eg Hawking, Stuart. He is bound to do more work like that in the future and he will get a BAFTA for that!

He was nominated for Hawking in 2004 and didn't win. But yes, we definitely want to see him do more stuff like that. And who knows, his lead in Parade's End might lead to a nomination next year too... :-)
