Conan Doyle and Sherlock Holmes - Anthony Horowitz in conversation with Roger Johnson

This event took place on Sunday (27 November) at the British Library. I could not go as I was at the event at the Globe looking at the "Authorship Question" in relation to William Shakespeare.

Bestselling author Anthony Horowitz was commissioned to write a new Sherlock Holmes novel by the estate of Arthur Conan Doyle and "The House of Silk" was published on 1 November 2011. At the event, Anthony Horowitz talked about the book, about the great detective and his trusty assistant Watson, and Conan Doyle’s achievement, with Roger Johnson, editor of the Sherlock Holmes Journal.

Roger Johnson has informed me that Steve Emecz has now posted a brief report of the interview here:
It gives a flavour of the event, but does not detail the questions that were asked or the answers that were given, which was what I was interested in. That said, I still think that it is well worth a read. If nothing else, it alerted me to the fact that Roger Johnson has his own book out - "In The Night, In The Dark" which includes several collections of ghost stories including Tales from The Endeavour which won the Dracula Award when it was originally published.

My feature on The House of Silk is here:
