Hurrah! I don't think that either BC or JLM would've have accepted the award alone in any case. It's absolutely right that they should share it.

One Man, Two Govnors has proved a massively popular play so no surprise there, but interesting that Mike Leigh won an award for directing Grief.

I am, quite obviously, massively pleased for Benedict and for One Man, Two Guvnors. I backed both with all my heart and soul. I would have been distraught if either had missed out.

However, I am gutted about two things. London Road deserved Best Musical - it was a travesty that it did not get it (although my major confession is that I have NOT seen Matilda!). As for Mike Leigh winning best Director for Grief - for once, I am speechless. I can only think that he got it off the back of his name (which is definitely how he managed to sell out the show), he most certainly did not deserve it for Grief!

I was thinking exactly the same about Mike Leigh when I heard......How the hell did that happen! Awful play! Dreadful!

I concur wholeheartedly!

I think Nick Hytner should have got the Award - again, I am biased!
