Calling all Gatiss fans! Don't miss this long overdue new reading of his third Lucifer Box novel on Radio 4 Extra next week. Five instalments, over five days starting Monday 17 October, each repeated at various times so that there's really no excuse to miss it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01614qr

Hopefully the programmes will also be made available on BBC radio iPlayer.

Tune in! Nobody reads the hilarious and often naughty adventures of Lucifer Box better than his creator. I've read all three... hearing Mark's distinctive voice in my head throughout. :-))

Thanks for this heads up - I was completely oblivious to it!

I have the first and second books but am ashamed to say I have not read them yet. Reading has gone out the window for me at the moment!

I read, because I am not in the right place to see and do as often as you are. :-) The Lucifer Box books are a wicked but witty indulgence. To quote Stephen Fry after reading the first volume, The most delicious, depraved, inventive, macabre and hilarious literary debut I can think of. More, I want more! Mark duly obliged with two more volumes - not, of course, to everyone's taste! But they do have certain tongue-in-cheek charm. :-))

I will get back to reading some day soon - although there are several other books that are ahead of these ones in the queue , including books on the British Empire and Albert Speer.

As far as Sherlockian books go I am desperate to read the Seven Per Cent Solution and the Gyles Brandreth novels. I really must get back to reading!
