The first thing that I saw up in Edinburgh was Ravi Shankar at Usher Hall.

Ravi Shankar is an Indian classical music sitar player. He has helped to popularise Indian classical music around the world, and he was definitely the person who introduced me to Indian classical music. He was playing a programme of evening ragas.

Ravi Shankar is now 91 years old. He is old and frail. But OMG! He was mind-blowing. I have seen him a few times over the years and his musicianship now is as good as it ever was. His fingers move like lightning across the sitar. In my humble opinion, he remains the best in the business!

I'm so glad that you enjoyed your time in Edinburgh again. I didn't realise that Ravi Shankar was still performing – he is a legend.

As a silly side note I would just like to boast that I too have performed at the Usher Hall... because that is where my school had its annual prize-giving concerts back in the day. :-))

I love Edinburgh - I always have an amazing time there, whether at Festival time, or in normal time.

Ravi Shankar just plays the odd gig here and there. When I heard he was playing Edinburgh, I decided to go to the Festival and I planned my trip around his concert. Yes he is a legend!

You performed at Usher Hall - bloody hell - how impressive is that?! I have a star as a member of my community! I am in awe! Forget about Ravi Shankar, you are a legend!

When I say 'performed', I mean only in the sense of some stupid form dance routine in lower secondary school. In retrospect I pity the poor parents and other guests that it was inflicted upon. :-))

Stop being so modest! I am sure you were great. You have my respect anyway. I have never performed on a stage in my life!
